KM&T Pte Ltd ran a productivity series conference “Lean in Healthcare” on the 10th of November for the Ministry of Health in Singapore. With a key target audience of the Intermediate and Long Term Care (ILTC) Services sector, the programme focussed on Innovation and Productivity helping healthcare organisations to transform the way they work by introducing Lean and thinking strategically.
The day was split into two sessions. The first was a basic introduction to Lean and a Lean in Healthcare simulation where the participants created an origami patient in the "Lean Patient Simulation".
This practical exercise gave them a chance to introduce the concepts of Lean as well as understand some of the problems and barriers they would encounter in their organisations when introducing Lean in their healthcare unit.
The second session was an overview of the introduction of Lean across the complete healthcare system with examples and experience from around the globe. This session was presented by Steve Boam, KM&T Group CEO and Scott Middleton Managing Director KM&T Pte Ltd.
